Perched on the hills, Aptera Village has a very convenient location as it is only 3.6 kilometers from Souda, 14 kilometers from Chania Center, and 8km from the Airport. Moreover, being extremely close to the National Road of Crete, it provides easy access by car to the other regional units of the island (Rethymno, Heraklion, Lasithi), to some of the most popular beaches in the area, as well as to other traditional villages of Apokoronas, such as Stylos, Armenoi, Samonas, and Machairi.
Visitors can also discover the rich historical tapestry of the area, as the village is in close proximity to the archaeological site of Aptera (within approx. 2km). Yet, the area’s charm extends far beyond its historical significance as it is a great place for relaxation or exploration. In the heart of the village, also known as the area of Megala Chorafia, there are small local, family-friendly taverns where you can enjoy authentic Cretan dishes or a delicious breakfast, small cafeterias, and a mini market. If you feel like exploring the nearby area, you can select one of the many available activities, such as hiking, tours, diving, watersports, or visit the nearest beaches.
Joel Rustic Villa is located in Megala Chorafia Village/Aptera, which is not easily accessible by public transport. The closest bus stop is located on the highway and from there it will be an uphill that you will have to walk to reach our place.
